National Tea Day's Fes-Tea-Val 2018
On the hottest weekend of the year so far, thousands of tea-lovers from around the UK descended onto Chiswick House and Gardens, for National Tea Day’s 2018 Fes-TEA-val. And what a weekend it was!
Newby Teas
Naturally, Newby Teas was there welcoming old and new fans of the brand. And whilst – to us at least – every day is tea day, it’s safe to say April 21st-22nd were officially Very Good Days for the nation’s tea consumption, with an estimated 1200 complimentary cups of Newby Teas, and well over 1000 of our sample packs handed out across the weekend.
The Chitra Collection
Most importantly, Newby proudly supported an exhibition of the Chitra Collection - the world's finest private collection of historic teawares. Held inside the exquisite house itself, the exhibition took us on a journey down our favourite beverage's historic path, from its origins in China to the blends you enjoy today. With pitstops in England, Germany, France, Russia and America, it was an extraordinary insight into - quite literally - the world of tea.
The Event
Back outside on the lawns, visitors were treated to a wide variety of food and drink stalls, yoga demonstrations and fashion boutiques, all set against the stunning backdrop of Chiswick House’s exemplary gardens. With the sun shining and temperatures reaching an extremely pleasant 21 degrees, it really was a glorious British weekend.
